A fully holistic vocal study includes attention to the mental and emotional state and influences on performance and strives to find new methods to combat challenges
Stress and tension are the root of many vocal production issues. Through alignment, core strengthening, posture training and breathwork many of these issues can be easily addressed
Anxiety affects many people in many different ways. Constantly exploring new interventions to address the psychological aspects is vital for holistic methods.

Maintaining a consistent practice routines are always important, speaking or singing requires motor learning skills to build new muscle memories. When we are practicing in a comfortable environment with few disctractions, it is often easier to "get in the zone" where we feel so confident about our performance. When we add an audience or judges to the room, performing can become challenging.

Music Performance Anxiety (MPA) is a pervasive phenomenon that can cause musicians “persistent anxious apprehension” which not only impacts performance quality but can affect health and career development causing physical, emotional and cognitive issues. Mental training can be as important, if not more so, than technical/physical training.

In addition to practice and technique, many try performance-based plans like mental practice and visualization to try to lessen MPA. Others may try yoga, tai chi or other physical exercise therapies to reduce stress. The more severe cases may try hypnosis, psychotherapy or medications to control the symptoms.
We are constantly exploring new interventions and conducting new studies
